Booker Little, Curtis Fuller etc. 'The Soul of Jazz Percussion' (Warwick DG stereo)

This is a wonderful little session of percussion features plus stellar soloists (particularly Little) playing arrangements by Teddy Charles, Alonzo Levister, Mal Waldron and Tom McIntosh.

Gerry Mulligan--Historically Speaking (Prestige)

kh, I bought Historically Speaking about 1969, and inside I found John Coltrane's Soultrane! I didn't bother to take it back to the store.

It's a pretty nice record--with Mulligan and lots of Alan Eager.

I just bought the LP--found a very nice looking copy at a Half Price Books, but someone had stolen the record, so they gave me the cover--I quickly found for sale on ebay a copy with a good record, and a bad cover--so now I am set.

I went to a local record swap today, so I came home and played a bunch of stuff.

Randy Weston's Carnival

Weather Report's I Sing the Body Electric

Woody Shaw's The Moontrane

Curtis Amy's Mustang

Steve Kuhn's Trance

Andrew Hill's Grass Roots

Wooh, I'm tired. I still have a couple to go. Life is good.
