Okay I'm digging it more... so onto Disc V :cool::cool:

JJ Discs 6 and 7.... I was always lukewarm to this set...

Let's see how I feel now...

Shows how music strikes people differently. The JJ Mosaic renewed my enthusiasm for jazz after two years of not really enjoying jazz all that much.

IMO

the JJJ gets stronger towards the end of the box set

I don't know what it is about those JJ sessions, but they are just really special. I never knew I could enjoy a trombone quartet so much!

Maynard Ferguson LP set, LP 7.

Working my way through a few LPs in this mammoth set, in recognition of a fine artist.

I am planning to do exactly the same thing this weekend. There are still a few LPs in that set I haven't listened. I really like LP7 in that set. A big :tup

The very last cd in the Venuti/Lang set, which I hadn't gotten around to listening to for a while after I got the set. Turns out there is some wonderfully funny, goofy nonsense toward the end when these characters were cutting up in the studio (including a tune they entitled "Non-Skid Manure"!) :P

Just listening to the Stanley Turrentine set. I re-equalized the first disc, removing some of the harsh treble. To my ears it sounds just about fine now. And the music itself is GREAT! :D
