Sorry for being obtuse. You never know what people have or haven't picked up yet, and I don't like to appear "condescending" (unless it's on purpose :g )

Anyway, there's a definite BN connection to the cover of THE BASEMENT TAPES!

Cover photo and design by Reid Miles!!!

After moving on from BN, Reid Miles became a very successful (and distinctive) commercial photographer. His trademark style was the opposite of his sparse BN style. "Crowded", often incongruous people and items jammed together to from a "real-time collage" became the order of the day, and THE BASEMENT TAPES cover is a classic example.

I learned all this from the husband of a friend of my wife's, who was himself a commercial photographer. I asked him who his favorite photographers were, and the name Reid Miles came up. When I mentioned that Miles was legendary for his BN work, this guy said that he had never heard of Blue Note, nor of Miles' work for the label. When I showed him some classic examples, he was kinda freaked out at the difference!
