Am I right to assume that CD-Rs are used for the the compact disc version? Can't see the official CD logo anywhere on the product.

Edit: I contacted "New Braxton House" with this question. Will report back here.

I hear ya. But it isn't just the money. I moved 15 months ago and don't have the room either. Most of my CDs are boxed up and stored in a spare room.

There is always the (cheaper) option of just buying the files.... If the discs are indeed CD-Rs, I might do this as well.

This a superbly produced box set. Beautiful non-fatiguing warm sound (now listening to disc 1). Excellent booklet. Many here would enjoy this if they could scrape the cash together.

If you can occasionally spend $150 on a Mosaic set, you might as well get this New Braxton House release. Similar value for money.

Anthony Braxton box - four hour-long slabs dedicated to Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, James Brown, and Merle Haggard, played by AB, Taylor Ho Bynum, Nels Cline, and Greg Saunier out 6/21 on Firehouse 12.

Sounds good.

I don't know if it necessarily sounds "good", but AB & Haggard...more than a little curious to see/hear the lens (lenses?) that goes through on its way to what process on its way to the final music.

I hope there are copious liner notes, and I do mean copious!

Braxton has a penchant for dedicating his compositions / performances to people he likes. The Braxton GTM 2001 set had tracks dedicated to Captain Beefheart, Shostakovitch, John Cage, Harry Partch, Betsy Jolas, etc. This is as meaningful as Braxton's drawing for his compositions.
