He gained a great deal of notoriety in his lifetime and has continued to be recognized as a great, but I still say that he is underrated! Then comes Ronald Isley. Lots of intensity there, too. And I can't leave out Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, Ray Charles, Gladys Knight, Al Green, Curtis Mayfield, and Aretha Franklin. Good stuff. I've always dug the Isleys, Bill Withers, and nearly all of those mentioned here, but I must admit to not having any Otis Redding or Sam Cooke, and very little Ray Charles. SLEEPING!
