JSngry
Please, can we settle this once and for all?
Dan Gould
I vote for Percy France's version of Stanley T.'s "Sugar" from the Black & Blue album, Oliver Jackson Presents Le Quartet.
JSngry
Please, sir, this is a blinding reeferend'em with globbal implacations. I would respectfully ask you to take the question seriously.

Jazzmoose
I voted for "tie", with the assumption that the 'etc.' included 'this song is so frickin' bad it makes my ears bleed and those repsonsible should be first up against the wall when the revolution comes, especially Don Kirchner, of course'; if not let me know, I'll need to change my vote... Harold_Z
Pickett gets my vote. I love the explicit drug referances in "Sugar Sugar". I mean like it's hipper than "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds" !!!
jazzbo
Jimmy McPartland on repeat mode? PRICELESS!
John L
I love the Wicked One, but I have trouble getting with him on Sugar, Sugar. I'll have to go with the Archies as well. They have a dorky enough sound to go along with the composition. They succeed in putting the bubble in the gum. (I would be scared to chew the shit after Pickett got finished with it.) Chrome
There's this interesting/kitschy disc called something like "Saturday Morning's Greatest Hits" with a bunch of indie-types doing cartoon songs ... Ramones do the Spider-Man theme, Juliana Hatfield/Tanya Donnelly () do "Josie and the Pussycats," etc. and Mary Lou Lord/Semisonic do "Sugar, Sugar" in a way that's pretty catchy. maren
For me it's the Archies -- indelible imprinting from endless car radio play during high school years...
