Claude Posted July 7, 2003 Report Posted July 7, 2003 I have intermittent problems this morning when connecting to the Organissimo board. I get an error message saying that the webserver cannot be reached. Please vote in the poll above so I can see if it is only me or if there is indeed a problem with the Organissimo server Quote
king ubu Posted July 7, 2003 Report Posted July 7, 2003 I was trying again and again for more than three hours and was only able to connect a quarter of an hour ago. (from switzerland) ubu Quote
BLP 1577 Posted July 7, 2003 Report Posted July 7, 2003 Yes, it took awhile to connect. I just some sort of glitch. Quote
Soul Stream Posted July 7, 2003 Report Posted July 7, 2003 I kept getting the "temporarily unavailable" page for quite some time. A few hours later I got through. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted July 7, 2003 Report Posted July 7, 2003 I'll talk to my server guy and see if it's him, or if it's a wider problem. The last time it was down for a few hours I don't think it was just my server. I went to several different webpages such as ESPN and noticed that certain ads and graphics would not load which would suggest a problem with their servers as well. Quote
JSngry Posted July 7, 2003 Report Posted July 7, 2003 I was hearing on the news Thursday about a hacker attack being anticipated for the weekend. Don't know it that's relevant or not. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted July 7, 2003 Report Posted July 7, 2003 That's what I'm thinking. The last time it went out for any lengthy amount of time was just after they released a virus onto the internet that shut down Windows 2000 servers. My server guy doesn't use Windows, but some of the computers he routes through did and it had affected them. Quote
mikeweil Posted July 7, 2003 Report Posted July 7, 2003 I had problems accessing other websites around that time, but organissimo worked comparatively well. As I am connected by modem I attributed this to my webserver, or high traffic on weekend, when modem users are served last, but who knows .... Quote
Jim R Posted July 7, 2003 Report Posted July 7, 2003 I've been having some technical problems here over the past couple of days. The site would either not connect at all, or the "today's active topics" page would not reload once I was here; or links wouldn't open, etc. The strangest thing, though, was that my time setting suddenly went awry. The only way I could correct it was to enter a false setting about what time zone I'm actually in, in order to get the most current thread to line up with the actual time of day... Quote
Claude Posted July 7, 2003 Author Report Posted July 7, 2003 When I posted this thread I only had problems with this website. All other pages I visited (US and european) were fine. Two hours later it was OK. Quote
JohnJ Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 Still having difficulty accessing this site, all other sites however appear to be working fine. Quote
Guest Mnytime Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 (edited) B3-er It just happened again. It has happened at least 2-3 times today. I have been having problems everyday now since the email I sent you. It happens at least once a day now. Some days like today it happens more than once. Also, I have had no problems with other sites including the day of the email when it was for 3+ hrs that I could not access the site. Edited July 8, 2003 by Mnytime Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 I emailed my service provider about this. We'll see. Quote
Guest Mnytime Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 There also appears to be a problem now with the Boards internal clock. It is showing an hour earlier than it is. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 Hm... I had to set the master clock time zone to something totally messed up to get it to display the right time. I wonder what's going on? I'll be waiting for a respone from my web guy. Quote
Guest Mnytime Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 Just so you know. It might be displaying the right time for you but I am still getting an hour earlier. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 The master clock is right, but only after setting it to a weird time zone and then the post clocks and individual clocks were still off, since they are based on the server's clock and not the board's clock. So... uh... I don't know what to do. I think the server clock is off. And I can't do anything about that. I'll email my guy. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 From the fellow who hosts my site: Power failure on Monday, followed by a UPS overheating as it was recharging. Sorry about that. I fixed the time problem today. So that should put an end to the website being down. I believe the time is fixed, right? Quote
JSngry Posted July 13, 2003 Report Posted July 13, 2003 It's Sunday afternoon 6:30 PM CDT, and the site has been unavailable for several hours, just now coming back up. Am I the only one? Quote
Harold_Z Posted July 13, 2003 Report Posted July 13, 2003 No, it's been down here too for a couple of hours. Quote
Rooster_Ties Posted July 13, 2003 Report Posted July 13, 2003 Been down that long for me too... Quote
