BeBop Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 (edited) Just checking into my usual Las Vegas hotel. An okay, off-the-strip place. Hauling my bag and flute. Whip around the corner, and there he is. In person. Saw several posters advertising his performance at the hotel after I ran into him. But - BAM - no warning. Edited April 5, 2006 by BeBop Quote

Free For All Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 Cartoon violence seems appropriate for cartoon music. Quote

DTMX Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 1. Does Hallmark make a card for a tragedy like that? 2. Should have asked him to autograph a Bird CD... 3. Too bad this 'meeting' isn't going to show up on an episode of COPS: In Las Vegas. /you're a great audience. try the veal. //no transgender references. ///kenny g sleeps on a giant pile of money dreaming of pentatonics... Jim Alfredson Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 You should've gone up to him and said, "Steve Augeri!??! Oh man!!! Steve Augeri!!??! Dude, JOURNEY IS MY FAVORITE BAND!" And then when he said, "No, I'm sorry, I'm Kenny G," you say, "Oh.... man.... that sucks." Quote

7/4 Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 This is fun. Not only is it Ornettes birthday, but we have Yanni, Baywatch and Kenny G to kick around. Quote
DTMX Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 This is fun. Not only is it Ornettes birthday, but we have Yanni, Baywatch and Kenny G to kick around. I'll never forget that feeling when I was riding into Minneapolis to see Ornette last April and I saw a billboard advertising Kenny G at the Mystic River Casino. Part of me died inside... until Ornette restored me. Quote
Hardbopjazz Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 Who's Kenny G? Man, I have to get out more. Quote
bertrand Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 Be-bop, Make sure Kenny G-spot is not beating up his girlfriend in the hotel room. Bertrand. Quote
BeBop Posted March 9, 2006 Author Report Posted March 9, 2006 Amazingly, I slept pretty well last night. Woke up this morning NOT thinking about the encounter...until I hopped in the elevator and saw that shining face and that hair...THAT HAIR!...on an advertising poster. His music may have been playing in the elevator, though I can't really tell G from all of his cohorts and clones. Overall, I find that I'm able to ignore the man and his...uh, stuff. Quote
Free For All Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 Amazingly, I slept pretty well last night. Glad you didn't have any G-mares. That must have been quite a traumatic experience. Keep your eyes open, maybe you'll bump into Bin Laden next. Quote
BeBop Posted March 9, 2006 Author Report Posted March 9, 2006 he showed you his stuff??!! gross! Not THAT stuff. I was actually referring to the noise he makes. I didn't want to say 'music'. Quote

BeBop Posted April 5, 2006 Author Report Posted April 5, 2006 I just booked my upcoming stay in Fort Lauderdale and thought I'd do some checking into the local live music scene. So, who do you think is going to be there during my stay (among others)? Yeah, Kenny G is following me. Quote
