Matthew Posted May 12, 2006 Report Posted May 12, 2006 (edited) I'm stealing this straight from Steve Hoffman Forums, only because it's a great idea, and I don't have a clue what half the avatars are that I see here. I'll go first... <------ self portrait of Francis Bacon, my favorite artist, I find them fascinating Edited May 12, 2006 by Matthew Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted May 12, 2006 Report Posted May 12, 2006 Most of mine are blatant commercial messages. That's the ticket! Quote
Neal Pomea Posted May 12, 2006 Report Posted May 12, 2006 (edited) "Internets!!! If I use them, that'll give my business a competitive advantage!" Silly reference to George Bush mentioning "all those Internets" in a speech of his. Edited May 12, 2006 by It Should be You Quote
gdogus Posted May 12, 2006 Report Posted May 12, 2006 Mine is... <--- "Blues for Allah" - Grateful Dead cover design (by Phillip Garris) Quote
Noj Posted May 12, 2006 Report Posted May 12, 2006 Contrary to popular belief, my Avatar is not a self-portrait but an image of a stock antagonist henchman from the action movies Die Hard and Lethal Weapon. Quote
Brownian Motion Posted May 12, 2006 Report Posted May 12, 2006 I'm not sure what I got here. It could be an early incarnation of Mickey Mouse, or it could be a generic cartoon rodent. Sure is a piss-poor driver, though. Quote

Spontooneous Posted May 12, 2006 Report Posted May 12, 2006 I would have preferred a picture of the other side of the lard bucket, which says "MANTECA." Quote
Christiern Posted May 13, 2006 Report Posted May 13, 2006 My temporary one is an Adolf Bush morph (courtesy of Weizen--actually I swiped it)--but the reality of it all is too unpleasant for me to keep this one long. Quote

Big Al Posted May 13, 2006 Report Posted May 13, 2006 One of our board members drew mine (apologies for forgetting) in response to a thread I started, which was an apology for what I thought was a pretty tacky thread I'd started earlier. I like it because that's the way I hope to come across to others: forgiving, accepting, and inviting. It also ties in with my favorite verse from Scripture, Matthew 11:28-29, the "come to Me all you who are weary" verse. Which was ironic, as the artist later pointed out to me that he was an atheist. Oh well..... I still like it. Quote
brownie Posted May 13, 2006 Report Posted May 13, 2006 I really should have an image of Clifford Brown, but I like that shot of Coltrane and Miles! Quote
ep1str0phy Posted May 13, 2006 Report Posted May 13, 2006 My faithful dog, Coltrane. I can see the resemblance--seriously. There's some pathos in there. -_- Quote
