Which Jazz box set are you grooving to right now?

Disc 4 on my second go-around for this set. Some excellent Peanuts Hucko from 1947 with Dave Tough on drums, then a Jo Stafford session, followed by some Mildred Bailey-Teddy Wilson duets. Enjoying this box even more than I did the first time I listened to it all the way through… bring on the big-band collection!

Starting in on this massive LP set of Benny Goodman’s mid/late 1930s recordings for RCA Victor. I like hearing the vocal tracks mixed in with the instrumentals. Borrowed the set from our station library, where it apparently landed around 1987 or so.

Thanks. Amazing to see what money this set goes for on Amazon. Interestingly, it says there this box set has not been cleared for sale to minors and is therefore unavailable for sale to minors. 🤨 😁 Wonder what made them take this step ...

BTW, the "The Birth of Rock and Roll" book that they also tout on that Dust to Digital site is very nice and VERY "rootsy" (more than most would be able to imagine imagine, but it does make sense in a way).

No idea. There are some explicit phrases in the lyrics, but I doubt most modern listeners would notice. The prices on discogs are much more reasonable. I bought it when the label sold out some of their titles at very good bargain prices.
