mgraham333 Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 Reid Miles was responsible for designing many album covers for Blue Note. Can you name an album where the man himself actually appears? Quote

BruceH Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 Wow, never even seen that album before. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 I believe the lp version of "One Night With Blue Note" included a picture of Miles in the booklet. Don't have it anymore but he did design the package. Quote
GA Russell Posted September 11, 2008 Report Posted September 11, 2008 All right. Here's another album cover trivia question. What 60s band usually had a man relieving himself on the cover? (I'm going to need help posting the photos. I need to learn how to do that.) Quote
JSngry Posted September 11, 2008 Report Posted September 11, 2008 All right. Here's another album cover trivia question. What 60s band usually had a man relieving himself on the cover? (I'm going to need help posting the photos. I need to learn how to do that.) I could answer that, but I won't because it might make me look "smarter" than I am. I opnly learned the answer recently, from a poster here. Stereojack, otoh, owns this one! Quote
GA Russell Posted September 11, 2008 Report Posted September 11, 2008 I'm surprised that we haven't had an answer for this yet, especially from TTK! I'll give it a little more time. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted September 11, 2008 Report Posted September 11, 2008 I remember this from my days in retail. Quote
clifford_thornton Posted September 11, 2008 Report Posted September 11, 2008 The Who had one but maybe that's later... Never really got 'into' Steppin' Out, but that may be at my own peril. Quote
sidewinder Posted September 11, 2008 Report Posted September 11, 2008 (edited) 'Steppin' Out' is very good. Up there with the John Patton Blue Notes of that vintage. Recommended ! Edited September 11, 2008 by sidewinder Quote

While we're impatiently waiting for the answer to this one how about another question. How many exclamation points on are on the cover of Jackie McLean's "It's Time!"? Quote
Christiern Posted September 11, 2008 Report Posted September 11, 2008 What album cover shows a fairly large group of people, including almost the entire staff of Riverside Records? Quote

(I'm going to need help posting the photos. I need to learn how to do that.) Time's up! The answer is... Baja Marimba Band! As I recall, their first album did not have such a remarkable feature, but these albums did: Rides Again For Animals Only Watch Out! Maybe others as well. Quote

I guess time's up for this one, too..... That's Ray Fowler (engineer) standing on the far left in grey suit. Sarah Cassey is seated, wearing an open jacket. Ken Deardoff (art dir.), Orrin Keepnews and Billie Wallington (George's wife, she was our Publicity Dir.) are also in there, somewhere, as am I (with a little girl between my legs). Quote
