Just noticed that he hasn't posted in awhile. Dug up his last post, from the "Live" forum:

With Antonio Sanchez and Christian McBride

Stunning.

I'm blown away.

May never post again.

Gotta go destroy my guitars

See ya.

Wow... maybe he meant it! :o^_^ Hope to see you around soon, Ed.

I've chatted with Ed, via personal messages, a couple of times. He provided me with good information regarding some Mosaic sets I purchased last year.

Ed was very vocal at the demise of the BNBB (I had a few laughs with him and at him!).

His last post does seem a little eerie, in retrospect, doesn't it?

Ed Swinnich, where are you, man?

I was thinking the same thing. Ed use to post a lot here. I hope he's all right. Shrugs never posted a lot here although I'd like to see him here more often.

I wonder if shrugs knows about "The Vinyl Frontier". B)

Ed's only been absent (apparently) for a couple of weeks, so I hope it's only temporary. I've got an e-mail address for him, so maybe I'll fire one off and see how he's doing...

Jim R gave me a heads up about this thread. Nice to be missed. :winky:

Nothing sinister has happened. I just felt like I needed a break from posting for a while. I felt I had reached a point where I was not contributing anything of value. I knew I'd be going into hibernation and then I saw that Metheny show. Holy smokes - it blew me away. After that I told myself I have to spend more time listening and less time posting. Plus, I've got a number of other things that are taking up lots of my time.

I've started painting again - something I have not done in 4-5 years. That takes up a lot of time. I'm trying to listen more as well. Also spending lots of time minding my investments, doing related research, and spending some time on various stock boards. You want to talk about a wasteland...

:wacko::wacko::wacko:

At any rate, I still lurk on a regular basis. I guess I should check the miscellaneous forum a little closer as I did not see this thread.

Ed:

Hey man, glad to know you're still around.

Yeah, I used to enjoy watching the stock boards before 9/11/01. It has not been much fun since that fateful day. I've not watched the stocks for several months. Rather, have spent much of my online time, here, at Organissimo. I was surprised, when I checked my 401k numbers a few days back, that the investment had grown a little.

What do you paint?

What do you paint?

I paint landscapes and urban scenes mostly of places I've visited like Quebec City, Montreal, Paris and the French Countryside. I'm an oil on canvas guy. Just for shits and giggles I showed two of my paintings at a recent employee arts and crafts exhibit where I work. I got a bunch of inquiries about commissions, which I never expected. It made me think of how much I actually enjoyed painting and while I refused the commissions, got me thinking that I'd like to do a few paintings.

Good to hear from you Ed. I've been trying to post less lately and spend more time on other things. Nice to hear you're doing some productive things and it's paying off for you! Keep it up and keep us posted. :D

Ed, glad to see you. We all need to probably take a break sometimes. I think that some of those people on the stock boards (just from having read some of the messages on the Yahoo message aboard about my company's stock) make some of our denizes look positively normal.

What, we're supposed to stop posting then? I swear, no one ever told me!

People tell me that all the time. I must get 2 or 3 PM's every day telling me to put a sock in it. ;)

Well--how do I explain this?--Moose. Bovines like Mooses (Meeses? B) ) get old and their antlers start chipping and breaking (something to do with a lifetime diet of moss,) and...well...there's a time we've got to just lead em back out to the wilderness to allow nature to take its course. ;):P

I ran out of things to say back in July.

I'm glad you're doing well, Ed! :tup

Note: This is a revived thread.

I know Ed has had a family situation recently. He can add more detail if he chooses. But, anybody heard from him recently? Or, know how he's doing?

Ed was one of the first people I 'spoke' to at the BNBB. He gave me some advice on ordering the Mobley Mosaic.

I always enjy seeing his name in the threads and reading is very up-front and honest opinions.

Worry not --- Tod has agreed to fill the vacuum and will be pinch hitting for Ed on the "up-front and honest opinion" front during his brief leave of absence. tongue.gif
