Christiern Posted December 9, 2009 Report Posted December 9, 2009 When does a room become an apartment? Quote
bertrand Posted December 9, 2009 Report Posted December 9, 2009 Where would I store my roughly 1,800 CDs? Seriously, if i had a bit more bread, I would have bought the place just to have somewhere to crash on my frequent trips up to NYC. $150,000 is pretty cheap. I wouldn't want to live there every day, though. Bertrand. Quote
JSngry Posted December 9, 2009 Report Posted December 9, 2009 Looks like a good place to bonk for people who have no intentions of ever having intentions. Quote
BFrank Posted December 9, 2009 Report Posted December 9, 2009 When I lived in NY, I had a studio about that size on the Upper West Side. Quote
papsrus Posted December 9, 2009 Report Posted December 9, 2009 Lends a whole new meaning to the phrase, "coming out of the closet." Quote
sidewinder Posted December 9, 2009 Report Posted December 9, 2009 (edited) Where's the crapper? Surely not out of the window? They do have space for a wine rack though. Gotta get the priorities right ! Edited December 9, 2009 by sidewinder Quote

The NY Post (linked above) has a slide show of the apartment. The person who took the photo above was standing roughly where the door to the bathroom is. I lived in a cabin one summer when I was around 19 than wasn't much bigger. Edited December 9, 2009 by papsrus Quote
kinuta Posted December 9, 2009 Report Posted December 9, 2009 Small ? That's normal in Tokyo !! Quote
umum_cypher Posted December 9, 2009 Report Posted December 9, 2009 I'm sure they'll find themselves turning to that top shelf more and more ... Quote

Hardbopjazz Posted December 9, 2009 Author Report Posted December 9, 2009 The one thing I just noticed, that just about all the knickknacks in the place are bottles containing alcohol. Just look at the shelving between the windows and all the bottles of wine. They can drown their sorrows when they say, "Oh, what did we get ourselves into?" Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted December 9, 2009 Report Posted December 9, 2009 Pretty cheap, if you ask me. NYC $857 per sqft for 175 sqft Lon $4350 per sqft for 77 sqft And 3 years inflation since the London closet was on sale. MG Quote
papsrus Posted December 9, 2009 Report Posted December 9, 2009 Again...where's the crapper? Check the NY Post link. Slide show has lovely view of the bathroom. Quote
Man with the Golden Arm Posted December 9, 2009 Report Posted December 9, 2009 Again...where's the crapper? lower left cabinet, silly! those folks are no doubt limber. Quote
sonnymax Posted December 9, 2009 Report Posted December 9, 2009 If the couple gets tired of their tiny studio apt., they can move into this house in Boston. The so-called "Skinny House" in the North End of Boston is an extremely narrow four-story house that has the uncontested distinction of being the narrowest house in Boston. The house spans 10.4 feet at its widest point and tapers to 9.25 feet at the back, and its narrowest interior point is only 6.2 feet. It's current owners live what the Boston Globe called "a vertical life". Quote

Aggie87 Posted December 9, 2009 Report Posted December 9, 2009 I don't see a stove, only a microwave- I guess they don't cook much. They eat EVERY meal out, according to the article. Also, they don't keep any of their work clothes at home, but leave them at various dry cleaners. They apparently put on jogging clothes and jog to work, while picking up the work clothes along the way, and then change when they arrive at the office. Odd peeps. Quote
vajerzy Posted December 10, 2009 Report Posted December 10, 2009 Makes me appreciate my old farmhouse and 12 acres even more. Quote
Jazzmoose Posted December 10, 2009 Report Posted December 10, 2009 Jeez...RVs are bigger than that these days. Quote
