AllenLowe Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 actually, on all those records he made, I though he WAS playing synth - didn't sound like a piano - Quote
brownie Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 Allen, Oscar Peterson is dead! Give him a rest! Oscar Peterson Wurlitzer ad chewy, Peterson plays electric piano on several tunes from this album: Quote
king ubu Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 There's also some electric piano on at least one of the Basie/Peterson Pablo discs, they both play electric piano (one at the time). Quote
Ken Dryden Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 (edited) Seriously, he did use synthesizer while working on new compositions in his home studio and was rumored to be issuing an all synthesizer album (mentioned in the liner notes to one Pablo album). During a 2002 interview with him, it didn't seem like he had plans to issue any of this work. Edited December 20, 2009 by Ken Dryden Quote
Matthew Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 I have an album from him back when he was Wendy Peterson. Off topic, but Rod, it's nice seeing you post again, I missed your thoughts. Quote

CJ Shearn Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 yeah, I think it was talked about in Downbeat once, he used it for composing. Another thing he mentioned once is he would to have loved to collaborate with Pat Metheny. Quote
