.:.impossible Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 They did two albums together. Quote
brownie Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 Contrary to the album title (As -heard- on the Radio), music that is rarely played on the radio. An outstanding album. Brigitte Fontaine and the Art Ensemble were made for each other. However this is not a new reissue. The Saravah CD has been available since the early '90s. One to get if you missed it thus far! Quote
clifford_thornton Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 They did two albums together. I only know of Comme a la Radio, which is great. Quote

Teasing the Korean Posted February 26, 2010 Author Report Posted February 26, 2010 Thanks for the replies. I may have to get this with my DG gift certificate - which I have not been able to use because I can't decide what to not buy!!! Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted February 26, 2010 Report Posted February 26, 2010 Two additional tracks were recorded at a different session and issued on a 45. These have been reissued on an anthology according to Jack Lefton's AEC discography site. Quote
brownie Posted February 26, 2010 Report Posted February 26, 2010 Brigitte Fontaine has been a popular and controversial artist since she appeared on the music scene in the '60s. She has retained her popularity throughout her career and continues to make recordings. Brigitte Fontaine during a concert appearance in northern France last November Quote
king ubu Posted February 26, 2010 Report Posted February 26, 2010 Fine disc, which I have in my collection thanks to brownie's huge generosity Quote
jostber Posted February 26, 2010 Report Posted February 26, 2010 One of the coolest albums ever recorded... I should check out this. Quote
clifford_thornton Posted February 26, 2010 Report Posted February 26, 2010 I have had good luck with her other Saravah LPs from the 1970s as well. Interesting figure in music, as well as her co-conspirators Areski Belkacem and Jacques Higelin. Quote
Joe Posted February 26, 2010 Report Posted February 26, 2010 VOUS ET NOUS sounds not that much like COMME A LA RADIO, but, if you start to get a Fontaine jones, is one of the next best destinations in her discography. Quote
clifford_thornton Posted February 26, 2010 Report Posted February 26, 2010 Le Bonheur is great as well. Quote
