Brad was reading Grey Bees a while back, which takes place after the invasion of Crimea, but before the recent invasion. I'm just starting this now. https://www.kirkusreviews.com/book-reviews/andrey-kurkov/grey-bees/ I thought it was a terrific book as he travels through the Donbas and Crimea with his bees. Quote

rostasi Posted December 2, 2023 Report Posted December 2, 2023 It's beautifully done and it's just come out. Pretty much the last project that Strachwitz was involved in at the time of his death. The full description pretty much covers what you get inside. Bought a copy for a couple in Silver City, NM who I knew would appreciate it, so, I'm very impressed by its quality. Quote

Rabshakeh Posted December 2, 2023 Report Posted December 2, 2023 America over the Waters by Shirley Collins. Seems to have been reissued. Quote
Gheorghe Posted December 3, 2023 Report Posted December 3, 2023 Sometimes between more intelectual books I just read some easier stuff as "bedtime stories" . Like almost all books I read, they have been translated in Romanian language. I think the original title is "The last time I saw Paris" (reminds me of the tune) Quote

rostasi Posted December 3, 2023 Report Posted December 3, 2023 Well, it was just what I was reading... Anyway, if you care to have some Sunday musical accompaniment, I did a Strachwitz tribute show back in May that coincided with the local blues fest. Random Radio 360: 230524 Quote
