Yes, what happened to the thread?

I started the thread yesterday. Sent it twice. First time was a typing error. Found out we could not eliminate threads in the new configuration. I asked how the first post could be eliminated.

J.A.W. replied I should contact the moderator which I did.

Now I find that the whole thing has just been wiped out.

No explanation.

An explanation would be appreciated...

oh, shit, that sounds really bad, hadn't seen your previous thread(s)...

Jazz bassist Marcus Miller's tour bus in fatal crash

Grammy-winning jazz bassist Marcus Miller and 10 members of his band have been injured and their driver killed in a tour bus crash in Switzerland.

The bus toppled over on a bend on the A2 motorway, police said.

The driver died of his injuries. A reserve driver, Miller and the other members of the Marcus Miller Band were hurt but none had serious injuries.

The 53-year-old Miller, from New York, has played with artists ranging from Miles Davis to Eric Clapton to Jay-Z.

He won the Grammy Award for best rhythm and blues song for co-writing Luther Vandross' 1991 hit Power Of Love/Love Power.

Ten years later, he picked up a second Grammy for best contemporary jazz album for M2.

The crash happened near the town of Schattdorf in central Switzerland as the band were travelling from Monaco to the Dutch town of Hengelo, where they were due to perform on Monday.

Police said no other vehicles were involved but gave no further details of the cause of the accident or the injuries.

As he said in his first post above Brownie posted two threads about the Marcus Miller accident ("sent it twice"); in one of them he said that he wanted it deleted and asked how it could be done, which is why I posted to the thread that only the admin and moderators could do that and sent Larry a message about it, forwarding Brownie's request. That's all. I never suggested that both threads be deleted.

Note that when the first post is deleted, the whole thread is deleted with it.

Really wishing the best for all involved in this.Marcus Miller is not a "traditional jazz hero" or some such, but he's an incredibly gifted musician whose view of the popular music landscape of the last quarter-century or so as player, writer, producer, and businessman is one for which I have long had much esteem. Hope he fully recovers and continues to thrive.

From what I'm told, everyone is fine except unfortunately the bus driver who died in the accident.

Through the magic of Facebook, I've seen posts from many of the band members who are Facebook friends as is someone from his management team and all reports are that that Marcus and the band members are all fine. Quite an ordeal though I'm sure.....

Life on the road.....

I'm thoroughly confused now, but what else is new? I apologize to Brownie and Hans. Peace. :)

No apologies needed. No harm done here.

Glad there was no fatal casualty in the bus accident...

It must have been pretty scary!
