HolgerFreimutSchrick
The French organist and pianist Eddy Louiss has died. I remember his fantastic album with Michel Petrucciani (Conference de presse)http://www.lefigaro.fr/flash-actu/2015/06/30/97001-20150630FILWWW00247-mort-de-l-organiste-de-jazz-eddy-louiss.php

Joe
Another loss. Sigh.DYNASTY is indeed superb. He also made some excellent recordings with a young Jean-Luc Ponty and the wonderful Daniel Humair.

clifford_thornton
Bummer. His recordings at the outset of the 70s are excellent and I should really make an effort to hear more.

LarryCurleyMoe
R.I.P. a very fine organist. I enjoy "Eddy Louiss Trio" (Dreyfus label) with Rene Thomas and Kenny Clarke quite a bit.

Justin V
I picked up Sentimental Feeling from a shop in DC last year and really enjoyed it; I need to listen to it more often. I'd like to pick up his trio disc with Rene Thomas and Kenny Clarke; it should be interesting to hear him in a trio context with that caliber of players. Thank you for the music, Mr. Louiss, and rest in peace.
Jim R
Hearing this album (later put out on the aforementioned Dreyfus CD) in the 80's was my introduction to both Eddy Louiss and Rene Thomas. Talk about making a great first impression. Still an organ trio classic, imo.
