All of my personal collection is packed and sent ahead to Buffalo. I also have an original iPod filled with a pretty complete history of the first 50 years of jazz.

For my deliberation I have saved an enormous amount of Roscoe Mitchell "private" recordings - files Roscoe sent me and events I had recorded.

No need to tease you, but serious for me.

Nat 'King' Cole and his Trio: After Midnight - The Complete Session
Featuring the solo instruments of Willie Smith, Harry Edison, Stuff Smith & Juan Tizol

I lost track of how many different versions I bought of this release to get the complete" session. I think that they found at least one more unissued alternate take after the Mosaic box was released.

I have to admit not knowing anything about him. I listened to some of his Sketches of Spain just now online. Any recommendations if I wanted to buy one of his albums?

Always had soft spot for this recording which features also some of George Young`s finest hours and based on this album I had huge expectations regarding the career of Charnett Moffett .... which somehow remained unfullfilled ....

Furthermore Lew Soloff was an essential contributor in the Gil Evans Bigband ....

An excellent session and one of the very first CDs I bought a couple decades ago.

Now playing:
