jazzbo Posted November 18, 2019 Report Posted November 18, 2019 (edited) Had about 90 minutes to listen on headphones so I decided to fill it with some boppin' jive. Babs Gonzales "Tales of Manhattan" Followed by Babs Gonzales "Voila!" Edited November 18, 2019 by jazzbo Quote

Gheorghe Posted November 18, 2019 Report Posted November 18, 2019 I saw the George Adams-Don Pullen Group in 1980 and was very impressed. They played a lot from this album, and the tune that impressed me most was and is Don Pullen´s "Double Arc Jake"...…., there was also the shouted blues done by George Adams. As much as I remember, they also played Pullen´s "Newcomer" and announced it as a tune they recorded with Mingus (Mingus Moves). Quote
Gheorghe Posted November 18, 2019 Report Posted November 18, 2019 As there has been written so much About "The Lost Quintet", this one still has Tony Williams on drums but I think it was the last time he was in the band, being replaced by Jack DeJohnette. This Album has been a favourite of mine since I heard it the first time. Quote
