That first version of "Round Midnight" is really something, with that voicings from the horns and Monk playing the melody...., and that incredible stride section on "Thelonious"..... Quote

Rabshakeh Posted March 22, 2021 Report Posted March 22, 2021 (edited) Currently listening to Tropos' Axioms // 75ab (Biophilia, 2020). I am listening to it on Bandcamp, but is by a small label that apparently sells hard copy versions in the form of a download code wrapped in biodegradable origami packaging. An odd idea, that seems a little gimmicky to me, particularly given the rather meaty price. Edited March 22, 2021 by Rabshakeh Quote

Gheorghe Posted March 22, 2021 Report Posted March 22, 2021 I listened yesterday to "Music from Connection" and "Shades of Redd". This one was originally not issued. Maybe the reason is that some of the ensemble parts are a bit sloppy. It´s still very fine music, but not up to the high standards of the two above mentioned albums. Quote
clifford_thornton Posted March 22, 2021 Report Posted March 22, 2021 yeah, I had that and wasn't stoked on it. Quote

Is this a selection of the original LPs as packaged or a box set of all the tunes from them? Those tracks with Dizzy on piano, if he really was, are classics. Edited March 22, 2021 by Rabshakeh Quote
