Thomas and Musson seem an interesting combination I enjoyed it. Pat Thomas really sounds like he does in person. Musson is strong. Its really nicely recorded too, so it feels very “live”. It’s available to stream if you want a taster. I’m now on: Takeo Moriyama Quartet, with Shigeharu Mukai - Hush-A-Bye (1978) Coltrane worship, mostly, but strongly done. Itabashi Fumio’s very good on this. Not sure why Mukai Shigeharu gets top billing. Edited September 17, 2021 by Rabshakeh Quote

JSngry Posted September 17, 2021 Author Report Posted September 17, 2021 Diddy Galippy The Sesjun Radio Shows vol. 1 Gifted, from a friend. Totally good-great band. Mickey Roker had this gig for a good long while, IIRCm and he is on it from jump. It's a club band, really, and a really good one. But Dizzy...I won't say he coasts, but his "routine" is pretty predictable. But still, very tight presentation, very much worth a set or two with in a club, no reason to not spend the whole night, actually, a few drinks, some laughs with friends, and good music to accompany it. Have a meal before the club, though, something to soak up the alcohol. Quote
