So, like the pack rat I am, I kept every "True Blue" catalog from Mosaic. I've decided to get rid of those, but I'm actually paging through them to see if there are any treasures I forgot to acquire at the time (a dangerous activity for my wallet, to be sure). I'm also seeing things I've had for a long time but haven't played in a while, like this one. Listening to disc 2.  BG may have had his problems as a leader and occasionally as a human being, but he was a great, great clarinetist, and he really loved the small groups.

George Benson “In Concert–Carnegie Hall–Guest Hubert Laws” CTI RVG UHQCD Japan

I had forgotten that Ronnie Foster was on keys here. Nice little spice added there. The spice must flow!

Recorded at Carnegie Hall, January 11, 1975

George Benson/McDuff, OJC cd

2 LPs reissued on this cd: “The New Boss Guitar of George Benson” and “Hot Barbeque”

Interesting that long-time Sun Ra bassist extraordinaire Ronnie Boykins is on the first album. Red Holloway is on tenor on both albums.

This is probably what I imagined when I first learned about Third Stream as a concept. It is much more 'classical' than most third stream.

Wow, do you own this?  It's kinda rare.

No way. I'd love to, as it is a lot of fun. I was streaming it via discogs.

Keith Jarrett/Gary Peacock/Jack DeJohnette “Still Live” ECM Japan 2 cd set, disc 2

Beautiful music. Always makes me feel nostalgic. I played this a lot, practiced to this a lot, in an important period in my life, a time when things started falling into place

Julie Kjær 3 – Dobbeltgænger (Clean Feed, 2016)

A nice record in the Clean Feed style, greatly helped by the excellent rhythm section.

Kjaer on alto sounds a lot like another player, who I am trying to place. If anyone has any ideas let me know.

Edit: It is John Butcher of whom she reminds me. It is quite noticable, save that Kjaer's compositional language is completely unrelated.
