I had the album but it seems I lost it or had borrowed it to someone and didn´t get it back, I can´t remember what had happened, but I remember the music. As much as I remember, it didn´t reach the same power the live concerts had. Quote
Rabshakeh Posted January 31 Report Posted January 31 Marcus Strickland Twi-Life Group – Open Reel Deck (2007) I dismissed this at the time, thinking it was part of the then-burgeoning jazz subgenre of 'theoretically young 30 year old impresses old people by doing supposedly young thing that the old people don't know is out of date'. It does have some of the trappings, like the subpar hip hop, but on revisiting it, I enjoy it quite a lot more than I did. Quote
jazzbo Posted January 31 Report Posted January 31 Bob Dylan “The Bootleg Series Vol. 17: Fragments – Time Out of Mind Sessions (1996–1997)” This is a fascinating box set. I’m listening to the remix of “Time Out of Mind” in this set at the moment. This opinion runs contrary to most that I read but I prefer the original mix. . . though I can like this one as an alternate window into the music. The original has a magic that drew me in and revived interest in Dylan’s music for me though, it will always live in my heart as a masterwork. Quote

jazzbo Posted January 31 Report Posted January 31 This was mislaid for a while and I found it under my listening chair! A funky remake of a classic Chico Barque album with amazing trombone! By the daughter of Joyce and Nelson Angelo, quite a family background. Clara Moreno Samba Esquema Novo “De Novo” 300×300 15.5 KB Quote
