I’m glad I am re-visiting this set, great music, great sound. This is still “the band that plays the blues.”

So Bruce Soord is now in the remix/remaster biz, like his friend Steven Wilson?

Second listen to this. The only thing that I can find in its defence is that it is inadvertantly quite funny that music that is this rubbish should nonetheless come packaged with such preening self regard.

I’m glad I am re-visiting this set, great music, great sound. Last disc to revisit. I understand those who are not crazy about Woddy’s singing–I used to be among them. But I’ve fallen for his phrasing and his real jazz sensibility in vocals–to me they are closely alligned to his excellent clarinet and sax playing. And the microphones really bring out his tone very well.
