sidewinder
Very sad to hear. Saw him in the lineup with Charles Tolliver’s Big Band, over 10 years ago now. Some great recordings with Hutcherson/Land - RIP.

Rabshakeh
That's sad. I was listening to that first Marion Brown ESP yesterday afternoon. The bass parts really stand out.

The bass parts really stand out. So was I. First time I'd done so for a couple of years. I always spot the bass solo not only because of it's musicality but also because my LP gets a bit crackly at that point and I always think I need to upgrade. Another great loss, as evidenced not least by felser's list up thread Edited September 11, 2020 by mjazzg

mikeweil
R.I.P. Saw him play a few years ago here in town, but can't remember who the leader was. Reggie Johnson obviously made the more lasting impression. Great bass player.
