JSngry
Look at how many great jazz players' last name begin with M. In my collection, the biggest single artists areas are for Davis, Ellington, Parker, Rollins, & Coltrane, but the biggest single letter section by far is M, #13 of 26, smack dab in the middle. M is for Monk/Mingus, that's good enough for me. But there's SO much more! Go ahead - go to any record store w/even a halfass jazz selection and see where the highest concentration of worthy artists is - it's under M. See if that holds true in your own collection as well. Jazzmoose
Holy shit; I never noticed. Not only Mingus and Monk, but with Mobley and Morgan, no other letter has a chance. Throw in my Pat Metheny obsession and it's a landslide! (Not to mention all the other artists...). Yep; M wins by a landslide here!

Brad
As far as M taking up most of my collection (more than any other letter, that is) I noticed that too awhile ago. I have about 23 shelves of cd (50 to a shelve or so) and M takes up about 3 of them. Don't forget Howard McGhee, in case nobody mentioned him. Shelley Manne too.
