jcam_44 Posted March 18, 2022 Report Posted March 18, 2022 I'm not sure what the defense is that he didn't do it. As far as sentencing I think the important thing is paying the restitution for the wasted resources. I think he is out on appeal now but I honestly didn't care enough to click past the headline/blurb. I had read this case is siimilar to the Pepino case where she claimed to be kidnapped, the thought is she'll plea out with paying restitution and maybe probation. I think Jussie was in a similar situation at one time with an Alfred plea, but he decided he wanted to fight it. This is all based on memory though and intrigue about the case because it was so bizarre. Quote
jazzbo Posted March 18, 2022 Report Posted March 18, 2022 I knew who Jussie was when the news first broke, and was even more familiar with the work of his lovely sister. Such a bizarre situation, but I do believe he was guilty of this ridiculous "caper." My feelings about the sentence fall between "totally appropriate" and "it's a travesty"--I chose the former because my feelings are closer to that extreme. Quote
Ken Dryden Posted March 18, 2022 Report Posted March 18, 2022 With so many real crimes that need investigating, anyone who goes to such great lengths and expense to become a phony victim of a non-existent hate crime deserves the full weight of the law. Quote
GA Russell Posted March 18, 2022 Report Posted March 18, 2022 The travesty is that he was let out after a week. Quote
clifford_thornton Posted March 18, 2022 Report Posted March 18, 2022 Hope he's getting psychiatric help. Quote
