That's unfortunate news; he made some nice records and was a good composer too. IIRC he wrote all the tunes on the album that featured a frontline of Louis Smith and Ralph Moore. That remains a favorite which I was able to flesh out with unissued tunes a few years ago.

According to the 2006 Sound Hills reissue: Recorded at The Ame'ricain Culturel Center in Sainnt Germain-Des-Pre's, October, 1968.
