The Anker trio also have a very good release on Leo Yes, I'm very happy with my purchases. The Bill Dixon was on the wishlist for a long time, so time to finally pull the trigger. As for the Bradford/Carter, wanted to initiattely go with Flight for Four, but chose this one instead (sort of an impuls, but maybe also triggered by the thread on this forum). And as for the final album, the Taborn and Cleaver tandem can do no wrong in my book, and Anker is someone I wanted to check out for some time now. This album also got five stars from Stef from The freejazzblog.org and that's usually a good indication for me as I ussually agree with his reviews. Quote

David Murray Octet - New Life CD - This has always been my favorite David Murray Octet record. When I was college, I made a cassette tape copy of this music. (My school's library had the LP.) The tape's long gone, of course. Nice to finally have it on CD. Quote

Liked it enough but this was back in the day where trading was a necessity for me if i was going to be able to get new stuff. So, liked it but not enough to hold on to. Was at a restaurant the other night where a jazz mix was playing in the background and the version of My Favorite Things from this album came on. Not quite a spiritual experience but holy hell did it hit the spot. Instant must have in my collection ASAP. Quote
