Finally ordered the Miles Complete Stockholm (Dragon) 4 cd set today. Got it for a good price on half.com ($35). :)

FYI- Make sure that your set doesn't contain a duplicate of one of the discs (I believe #2) and missing one all together (#3?). Even though they may be labeled correctly be sure to check them out right away. There have been issues with some sets including my copy. :(

Thanks for that heads-up Tom. I'll definitely check it out quickly when it arrives.

-Erik

Arrived safe and sound, with all discs, and the right music on them. :tup

Good news. Enjoy, it's great music!

Innocently walked into a Tower store and saw all these low priced RVG, Pacific Jazz and Capitol titles on the shelves (very rare occurrence). Needless to say they all went into the shopping bag:

1. Donald Byrd - Fuego

2. Lee Morgan - Sixth Sense

3. Lee Morgan - TomCat

4. Art Blakey - Mosaic

5. Leo Parker - Let Me Tell You About It

6. June Christy - June's Got Rhythm

7. Stan Kenton - Sophisticated Approach

8. Stan Kenton - Viva Kenton

9. Stan Kenton - Stage Door Swings

10. Nancy Wilson - Guess Who I Saw Today

~ and about another 15 titles - can't remember what.

Today I ordered one I used to have on vinyl, "The Great Jazz Trio, Live at the Vanguard" - the first of three by Hank Jones/Ron Carter/Tony Williams. Also the new Eddie Gomez trio CD, "Palermo," which I've read some rave reviews of in the jazz press over here. It features a pianist I don't know, Stefan Karlsson, and Nasheet Waits on drums.

found 10 Euro on the street and decided to fill one of the more obvious gaps, still no Kind of Blue but

Hank Mobley - Soul Station (second Mobley after Workout which was my graduation present from the high school big band, never really got into it - my fault i suppose)

Double Nickels On the Dime, on CD.

I've had the thing on vinyl since it came out, lo these many years ago, but I've been thinking about getting it on CD lately. Finally took the plunge. Pretty soon I'll have just about all my favorite punk music on CD.
