tranemonk Posted April 13 Report Posted April 13 Does anyone know if Laurie Pepper is done putting out "Unreleased Art" volumes? I have all of them and they are fantastic. I know she's been putting out the chapters of the book, but the music is fantastic. Quote

She ceased operations with her label Widow's Taste, though it is possible that she is involved in getting additional tapes issued by other labels like Omnivore. Quote
Kevin Bresnahan Posted April 13 Report Posted April 13 Laurie is 84 or 85 these days, so running a record label might be a bit much. Quote
ghost of miles Posted May 7 Report Posted May 7 (edited) Two tracks in and I'm loving it. Milcho Leviev's presence made this one a no-brainer for me.... that and my growing appreciation in recent years for late Art as great Art. Edited May 7 by ghost of miles Quote
John L Posted Thursday at 02:15 PM Report Posted Thursday at 02:15 PM I just heard this for the first time. Given that this concert comes two days after this band's Ronnie Scott's gig (Blues For the Fisherman) and two weeks before the Geneva concert recently released on Omnivore, it is interesting to compare the Norway concert to those recordings. On first listen, I would say that this new release does not seem to reach the artistic heights achieved on either of these other two recordings, although the sound quality is certainly much better than Geneva. Dub Modal Posted Friday at 01:54 PM Report Posted Friday at 01:54 PM Are we at the point where Art's posthumous releases now outnumber his ante-mortem albums? Seems like in the wake of all of these his catalog should be reassessed....maybe? Quote
