mjazzg Posted 20 hours ago Report Posted 20 hours ago Looks like Muse are now getting the deluxe reissue treatment. Vinyl only by the looks of things, please don't shoot the messenger... https://youtu.be/_wFWH4HgvK8?feature=shared Quote
HutchFan Posted 20 hours ago Report Posted 20 hours ago Very cool. Hopefully, they'll do a LOT of them. Quote
Kevin Bresnahan Posted 19 hours ago Report Posted 19 hours ago Hopefully they have access to the masters and find some bonus material for this. Quote
Kevin Bresnahan Posted 19 hours ago Report Posted 19 hours ago Ricky Ford has 7 Muse LPs that have never been released on CD ever. Quote
felser Posted 19 hours ago Report Posted 19 hours ago A couple of good 70's Charles Earland LP's, some good Joe Bonner albums, some primo Don Patterson, and an Eric Kloss LP with Hannibal Peterson are high on my list if they ever offer them on CD or reasonably priced digital. Quote
Dan Gould Posted 16 hours ago Report Posted 16 hours ago Ltd Edition vinyl, I bet $30 is their price point and it would have to be some unknown and impossible to find release that they would ever get anything from me. And of all the recordings to choose from at the start, its the Roy Brooks again? (Oh but its never been issued in this extra special, massively overpriced vinyl!) Quote
JSngry Posted 16 hours ago Report Posted 16 hours ago I got most of it already, in some form or fashion. All that I want, anyway. Most all of it anyway. Quote

Same here, but it would be nice to upgrade from old CD-R burns from questionable sources. But no interest in $32.98 vinyl. 41 minutes ago, Dan Gould said: And of all the recordings to choose from at the start, its the Roy Brooks again? Eric Posted 15 hours ago Report Posted 15 hours ago I will pick and choose. Some of the Muse pressings were crappy. Wonder how they will fund this without a dozen Bill Evans albums paving the path? PS- I hope they sell like crazy! Quote

How many more times am I going to listen to any real number of them again? 5 hours ago, JSngry said: I will look at that record infinitely more times than I will ever listen to it. 4 hours ago, Kevin Bresnahan said: Hopefully they have access to the masters and find some bonus material for this. Guy Berger Posted 14 hours ago Report Posted 14 hours ago I hope they add them to streaming services too. Quote
Pim Posted 12 hours ago Report Posted 12 hours ago That’s very cool. Unfortunately the Muse catalog got neglected for long by the vinyl revival. I think I now have most of the stuff I want but we’ll see. They’ll do some Clifford Jordan and Woody Shaw for sure. Quote
Holy Ghost Posted 12 hours ago Report Posted 12 hours ago So glad I grabbed this CD when it was out there: Quote

What were Dorn & Co. thinking? I would pay for a CD upgrade of this one, my all-time favorite jazz album, especially with the Mosaic box bonus cut: My current version is on this. I cashed in on my Mosaic box, a decision I have mixed feelings about. There's so much that could be done with the Muse catalog. Quote

kh1958 Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago The Muse catalog is very large, catalog numbers 5501-5568, so over 500 releases more or less. Quote
HutchFan Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago (edited) A few that I already have but that deserve wider exposure: Along with MANY others. Edited 2 hours ago by HutchFan Quote

Kevin, Have you heard the 32 Jazz CD compilation titled Ricky's Choice? If not, you might want to give it a try. It's not one for purists, perhaps -- since it's a comp. That said, I think it's more convincing as a listening experience than any of the individual Muse albums. It skims the cream off the top, so to speak. And somehow it seems a little more legit since Ford picked the cuts. Edited 38 minutes ago by HutchFan Quote
