Comments for the sound on the Mal Waldron and Bill Evans aren’t good as well. Glad I’ve ordered the Mal Waldron on cd. I already expected it.

I think the Mal Waldron cd sounds good. Haven't yet received the Evans but the review I did read that panned the sound seemed to come from someone with not much experience with the sound of a typical 625 performance.

The Henderson set has his usual energy.  Sound is a little compressed to my ears. It’s not bad but isn’t as lively as I would have hoped for. 
 

A trio was probably his best setting.

Still, I liked his language. For ex. the Paul Tingen "Miles Beyond" is much more academic, Freeman was good at converting feelings into descriptions really matching the music. But obviously all of this needs to be filtered with with something... more "fact-oriented".

Amazon has surprisingly good prices on the Zev RSD CD's.  I ordered the Henderson, Jamal, Cecil, Lateef, plus the Terry Callier.  All due in between tomorrow and Sunday.
