  1. I love it when such unexpected albums appear on the board like this. I have very fond memories of that but can't have heard it in over thirty years. When Echo and The Bunnymen were good they were very good
  2. I suspected so but hoped not for your sake. Yes, that's the recording I had in mind - nice group
  3. Jeez, I hope that wasn't one way. I suspect it was a once in a lifetime opportunity and really no surprise it was magical Was there any mention of a recording? I'm not sure whether I dreamt it but something on ECM?
  4. All appear to be on UK Spotify too.

    Anthony Braxton

Once again Braxton House assume that "friendly experiencers" are rolling in £££
  6. pretty handy rugby team at the moment too...
  7. Subtitled "New York Section Composers of the 1970's" Some great music on this from Sam Rivers, Mary Lou Williams, Gil Evans, Milford Graves and Sunny Murray The Sunny Murray piece may be the stand out. It's credited to UMUM Quartet about which my initial searches finds nothing. Anyone know who they are?
  8. Hope you make it. I'm sure it'll be worth the effort!
  9. new arrival that completes my Marte Roling/Fontana set, if we discount the mythical Rod Levitt. The music's great too
  10. Marion Brown's comment "You could use this record to heat up the apartment on those cold winter days" seems apt as the UK grinds to a halt with snow and cold temperatures that many other countries wouldn't bat an eyelid at
  11. Sorry my post wasn't clear. The cdbaby price includes postage
  12. Crazy Jazz have it listed at £24 which is a crazy price. Cheaper from CDBaby at $21
  13. How about these two Paul Horn's. Both work for me, in different ways and on different levels.Forgive me if they've alreday been posted, I did look but sometimes I don't see
  14. well at least it sent me back to this one nice cover
  15. That's frightening! Why would a very contemporary Jazz duo want to have that cover art? Is it a concept album perchance
  16. Yes, it was a good morning's listening this afternoon, two featuring James Newton preceded by
  17. and it was probably as cold in Wrexham as it was on the cover of the LP!!
  18. British DJ, broadcaster and erstwhile Jazz fan Gilles Peterson reportedly has a separate house to store his collection (variously 30000-50000).
  19. Yes, Wired is the highlight for me too. The New Phonic on Wergo is a real favourite and one of the reasons I bought the box. I don't know the Kagel but will investigate Edit to add: checked the Kagel on Discogs £££!!
  20. LP 1, New Phonic Art. Possibly the least successful recording of the three ensembles featured in the box followed by John Stevens/Evan Parker - Longest Night, Vol.1 [Ogun] Decidedly successful
