  1. I got notification that LP postage is delayed by a couple of weeks so I may weaken and stream
  2. Allen,Haden,Motian - Segments [DIW] all gone now...
  3. But if moving away from that 'tradition' of naming meant pain and distress for people could be avoided I can't really understand why someone wouldn't choose to. Plenty of things that have happened "for a long long time" don't happen now.
  4. here you go... and yes, it's a great cover
  5. Jeanne Lee - Conspiracy [Earthforms Records] I'm not sure it comes better than this
  6. Owned all of them once. Sold on in harder times...shame. Hopefully someone's enjoying them.
  7. Yes, the condition concerns me a bit. At some of those prices I'd be looking for a 100% seller feedback score on other sites. It's not as if they'll take a return if their grading is off either. Anyone out there know how well Mr.McRae looked after his collection? As for the pricing, looks a lot like they've done a trawl of Discogs certainly for the items I'd be interested in - not overly outrageous but pitched the reserve at the top end of the Discogs scale I'd say.
  8. I could spend a LOT of money on 6th June... Those Aylers...amongst many others Some of the bundles are bizarre. And some seem to have been designed purely to prevent me buying the one in the bundle I don't have...
  9. Andrew Cyrille & Maono - Junction [IPS] Lisle Atkinson! Andrew Cyrille & Maono - Celebration [IPS] and maybe the Black Saint next
  10. The Minutemen - Double Nickels On The Dime I can remember playing this to death when it hit London. Listening now for the first time in probably over 30 years. Stands up very well.
  11. Copy of the Armonicord ordered
  12. Listened to his Leo release 'Lito' last week, stands up well
  13. I wouldn't have seen half the Jazz musicians I have if it weren't for his work.
  14. Thanks CT. I bought that Portal only recently, hadn't made the connection. Great record.
  15. Thank you. Will certainly catch up after the event
  16. Angles 10/9 - Today Is Better Than Tomorrow [Underflow] Liberation Music Orchestra for our times
  17. Maybe he's learnt in the last ten years...spends enough time at Oto to be able to All this talk of Jouck Minor intrigues. What do I need to know about him? I see a trio with Thelin and Favre, any good?
  18. I sincerely hope so. Less than ten years ago I saw him with John Butcher, John Edwards and Mak Sanders. He seemingly paid absolutely no attention to the others, ploughed his own furrow drowning them out for the best part of an hour's improv. It was either a bold statement of musical independence or ignorance. I know which one I felt it was. Love nearly everything he's done with SY btw
  19. Moacir Santos - Coisas [Polysom, reissue]
  20. Emil Richards & The Microtonal Blues Band - Journey To Bliss [Impulse] some very interesting music amongst the hippie stylings
  21. Kai Winding and J.J.Johnson - K. & J.J.:Israel [CTI/A&M] very pleased I took a punt on this cheapie recently. Really does have something about it - the playing, the arranging, good tunes
  22. According to Gilles Peterson she didn't like the cover picture though, so probably didn't have a hand in that. Hence a new one for the reissue. Yes. Arc is his new reissue label. This its second release.
  23. Good old Gilles
  24. Money talks. Big money talks loudly. Frankly I'm fed up with all the news coverage of the "will they, won't they" with the Premiership and the return of 'top flight' football in Europe. As much as I like my football it really does fade into insignificance compared to other priorities. Online adverts for betting companies and the Bundesliga today say it all really. Given the privations that many are suffering right now the sight of such astronomically reimbursed, pampered sportsmen playing again at the moment actually sticks in the craw somewhat. Bread and circuses
