  1. Mine's doing deliveries of beer and pizza https://www.thegoodnessbrew.co/
  2. The top two are great. The bottom two look interesting. I'm really enjoying the first play of this at the moment
  3. Beautifully sunny Spring day in London requires some summery vibes
  4. Yes of course, 'Song of Solomon'
  5. Hilary Mantel - The Mirror and the Light Don't let it deter you from trying another at some point. Maybe 'Sula', 'The Bluest Eye' or 'Beloved'
  6. And it's a fabulous album
  7. Currently listening to a great trio performance by Hannah Marshall, Alex Hawkins & Mat Wright - live stream from Cafe Oto Tomorrow's is a duo John Edwards & Steve Noble, just for you Steve Reynolds
  8. I work for a charity supporting older people, we have received hundreds of offers of help. Sadly, we have also been advised by the police of the first instances of doorstep scammers targeting the old. F###### scum.
  9. Cafe Oto are live streaming. Evan Parker Trance Map tomorrow. Tune in. And don't forget to donate.
  10. London lockdown now officially dismissed as rumour which won't be great when they really have to do it in a few weeks time. Local supermarket shelves stripped bare at 7.30 this morning. Madness
  11. Must be horrible to be so close to. Officialdom here saying we are two to three weeks behind you, London especially. We may be able to mitigate some of the word ramifications by being able to learn from Italy's experience. Stay safe porcy62
  12. I like a bit of wild!
  13. So now I'm looking at Masters Of Unorthodox Jazz 'Overground' from 2013 on Discogs
  14. Now having listened to the one track I am definitely in for this. Not overly free CT, this one track reminds me of NYAQ (with a pianist and no bass...) on very quick acquaintance. Want to hear more
  15. Thanks. I don't know what the rules are. A PM with the link maybe? Or just your description, I'm intrigued.
  16. John Stevens Folkus - Life Of Riley [Affinity] Think this definitely qualifies as an overlooked gem of a record. Basil Kirchin - Everyday Madness [Trunk Records] a title for our times. Two tape pieces and a very nice Jazz suite. Recommended.
  17. None of the musicians mean anything to me. What are we likely to hear? Any clues?
  18. The Shabaka is really impressive, a definite development from the first which was pretty good itself.
  19. Great title for the Rory. I listened to him a lot back then, fondly remember a great televised concert, probably on 'Rock Goes To College'. Haven't listened to him in decades now
  20. Soundohm seem to thrive on bootleg stock
  21. And me. Definitely on for the CD, less sure about the book.
  22. Gearbox are releasing a Don Cherry Quartet recording from 1965 which could be interesting. I don't know if this is UK only.
  23. The live experience is very different to the studio recordings many of which have overdubbed instruments. The live albums will give you a better idea. They are one of the very best improvising groups that I've seen and I've seen them a fair few times now. I'm due to see them again in June.
  24. Free State of Jones Totally fascinating for someone who knew absolutely nothing about the subject. Well acted and dramatised without sacrificing historical nuance from what I can gather with some follow-up reading.
