  1. So, What Are You Listening To NOW?

One of those times when I wish Mosaic reproduced the original cover!
  2. Happy Birthday Louis Armstrong!

    +1
  3. Which Mosaic Are You Enjoying Right Now?

Listening to the live things on disc 10. Some nice Lucky Thompson and Howard McGhee!
  4. The Teagardens, Kenton Presents: Rosolino, and the Basie Roulettes, but I like most of 'em.
  5. Health report

Excellent news! We miss you when you're gone! Greg
  6. What Are You Watching

I was gone and just caught up on Westworld last night. Some good Ed Harris. That series continues to be fun.
  7. Mosaic's Black and White label box set

That's funny. I'm just reading this as I finish the Bigard/Auld stuff on disc five. Bigard and Tatum are up next! On the whole, I'm really enjoying the variety on this set so far. There have been some pleasant surprises (Mike Lo Salzo, anyone?!), and I'm hoping for more.
  8. I'm not a kvetcher. Too hard on the knees. Always been more at home way out in left field.........
  9. Mosaic's Black and White label box set

Mine arrived in Portland yesterday. I'm just finishing disc one as well. Some lovely Pee Wee Russell, and as a long-time fan of Bechet, I'm always delighted to hear more. Great booklet. I think I'm really going to enjoy exploring this set!
  10. Ah, ok, I take all your points. Yes, I think they've gotten a bit more conservative, driven by the decline in general of cd purchases and the simple need to survive. I know that several responses from Michael to various queries over the past few years have involved the notion of whether a given set had or would sell. And I myself am part of that "resistant" demographic. The Braxton set is the only one issued in the past several years that I didn't get. But I would get Jim's much longed-for Bill Barron set! Promise! gregmo
  11. Well, no. The last five sets before the Black and White all went beyond the late 50s. The Desmond was from the mid-70s, The Tristano went up to 1970, the Armstrong to '66, and so on. gregmo
  12. So, What Are You Listening To NOW?

Disc 3 of this very good album:
