xybert
Anybody checked this out? I read about it here: http://darkforcesswing.blogspot.co.nz/ Can be purchased here: http://systemdialingrecords.com/market/albums/new-vocabulary/
JSngry
Thanks for the heads-up! I was JUST about to order it when I noticed that the checkout site might not be fully secure...total bummer...anybody else noticing that, or is it just my browser? Chuck Nessa
We should check with Dookie about this.

ornette
Pricing is a bit ambitious as well - $20 for the cd, $30 for the flac?
Lazaro Vega
Should probably write the label via contact information to see about that check out issue..... So, if you buy a flac file you still need to convert it to wave files to burn to CD, right? Noticed they offer it in straight up wave files, too. There is free software that lets you burn flacs to a cd (I use one called Burrrn), so you can still have lossless on your pc & a cd.

Justin V
At what point in the checkout process did this security issue manifest? I clicked through and made it to the billing page without any kind of warning.
JSngry
I'm still using Firefox. When I got to the billing page, I noticed that the shield up in the address bar was greyed out. Further review said that that was because there were parts of the site that were not encrypted. It didn't say which parts. It might actually be safe, but I want further clarification, just because. Chuck Nessa
So, this is a great opportunity to buy music you don't have from folks who really paid the artists and took a chance. Why worry about missing a possible theft?
JSngry
It's not a question of if I will give them my money, it's just a question of how.
Chuck Nessa
I was in the wrong game. Sorry. Just put me on "ignore". Edited December 24, 2014 by Chuck Nessa
AllenLowe
it's weird why they make it so difficult to purchase this thing. That's what bothers me.

corto maltese
July 2009, according tot the author of the blog post. You can listen to the complete "Sound Chemistry" track on the label's website. Now wouldn't it have been neat if Sonny had played on this in lieu of Ornette ? RubyMyDear
Hi folks - new around here. I too noticed the security warning on Firefox but (at least on my end) it now changed to a lock (secure) symbol on the actual checkout page. Maybe they fixed the problem at the web site? Take another look Edited December 27, 2014 by RubyMyDear
JSngry
Amir @ the label requested screenshots, which I sent, and there is now a security certificate in place. However, I submitted an order and nothing happened, the page kinda flashed and then went right back to where it had been.. .so I submitted another one and the same thing happened...might be getting two of these...or none at all. We shall see. I've sent anohter heads-up email requesting clarification. I will say that they seem to have a genuine concern for getting it right, so I don't mind working with them while they do. I had the same experience but didn't hit it twice. I'll check in a few days and see if my credit card has been charged. BTW didn't notice earlier un this thread anyone mentioning that it's avaialbe as a cd. Costs less than the flac even with expensive shipping. And what does it mean when it says you can buy a studio master?
JSngry
From Amir: I do know that if the billing info is not a 100% match to the card info the order will not go through. Well hey - I was placing the order for "Jim" and the card is for "James". Problem solved, order placed, confirmation email received. YAY-HOO! My card uses my middle initial which was not on my billing address. Added the initial and it seems to have gone through. Aand as I'm typing this I got an e-mail confirming the order.
