Posted 16 Dec 2015 Hello all, You may have noticed a new DONATE box and button on the forum homepage. I thought this might be easier for most as well as a handy reminder that it does cost money to keep this site afloat. The donate button links directly to my Paypal account. Remember, you can use regular credit/debit cards with Paypal. For those that prefer to write a check, you can make them out to me and send here: PM ME FOR THE ADDRESS
Posted 16 Dec 2015 Will put my money where my mouth is this holiday season for sure. New banner looks rad too.

Posted 17 Dec 2015 Does the "latest donations" scoreboard need t be visible? Or is there way around that during the donation, keep it private/anonymous?
Posted 17 Dec 2015 Thanks, Jim, for all the pleasure and engagement. The check goes in the mail tonight.

Posted 17 Dec 2015 (edited) I clicked anonymous for name but left amount visible. Although nothing shows on the main screen if you click 'view donations' name comes up to see. (I tried signing out...still there) It's useful to see amount towards target and even how much individuals are donating. Don't see the need for the names. Posted 17 Dec 2015 Yes, that seems to be a bug. I have an email out to the software developer. I also added an 'offline' option for those that don't want to use Paypal.
Posted 8 Jan 2016 (edited) Out of sheer curiosity: How come only "this" month's donation balance is displayed now and the results of December's donations are not shown anymore? IIRC the $150 requested were "overpaid" by a multiple figure by the end of December so should cover the costs incurred for several months. Might be useful to know that a certain backlog is there (just in case ...), isn't it? Edited 8 Jan 2016 by Big Beat Steve
Posted 9 Jan 2016 Clearly seems to be a way to keep the money flowing in ... Jim might turn a profit on this thing yet! Seriously though it's up to Jim how to utilize the button option but it seems to me it could be a new way to initiate the semi-annual funds drive. When a certain amount is raised, Jim could remove the button, then the reappearance of the button would tell everyone that what was raised is near exhaustion and it's time to dig deep again. Posted 9 Jan 2016 Would it be possible for the default view to show "Paid thru mm/yyyy?"
Posted 9 Jan 2016 I could make it a yearly total. $1800 a year.

Posted 10 Jan 2016 I'd go for that too. Then we'd know exactly where the financial thing stands.
Posted 10 Jan 2016 Yes, but this would mean the overview would start at the start of the current fundraiser, i.e. Dec. 1 (since Dec. had already been overpaid by several 100% ;), covering the cost for several months), right?
Posted 17 Jan 2016 No, I can assign all donations to the yearly total.
Posted 1 Apr 2016 I just made a $104 donation so all my tolerant, narcissistic friends can keep on discussing music here at Org.

Posted 15 Apr 2016 Sending cash through the mail (or any other physical service) can be a risky business.
