I agree. Today the mail came. And with it a second package from The Lost Recordings with the Coltrane and the Getz Zardi's UHQCD sets. I think my second order was not canceled as it was said to be. Sigh. Worse problems are possible!

“Stan Getz at Zardi’s” The Lost Recordings 2 UHQCD set, UHQCD 2 Great sound, great playing. It just amazes me how inventive Stan can be, how masterful his bebop is and also how swinging his flow is, and how beautiful the sound he produces.

Coincidentally, I am listening to Ralph Pena as well, also with Herb Geller... Finally bought this today after seeing it many times, it's wonderful

Sometimes I close my eyes, stand in front of my shelves and just pull a cd out at random. Got a good one this time.

Eddie Bert “Kaleidoscope” Fresh Sound cd Reissues mostly Discovery sides, recorded before Discovery was sold to Savoy and before Bert recorded for Savoy. Pretty neat stuff, most of which have Duke Jordan on piano and many of which have Sal Salvador on guitar, and one of which is the very first recording of drummer Joe Morello.

Ha! Went to a vinyl clearout sale at a local record shop today and found the Phontastic LP (that has this session including that Night In Tunisia version) for the princely sum of 1 EUR°! So thanks again for hipping everyone to that recording, Marcel!
