  1. Past hour
  2. Some great choices so far. I'd add Wenders.
  3. Now spinning: with arrangements by William S. Fischer
  4. Bill Barron as a leader Bill Dixon as leader/producer for Savoy, or Savoy avant-garde in general George Russell in Europe (Saba, Concept, Flying Dutchman). Could include Soul Notes too but not sure if CAM would license those...
  5. One I just heard of recently and really enjoyed is Harry Allen’s Christmas In Swingtime from 2001. With Jake Hanna, Peter Bernstein, and Larry Goldings on organ. A hip and swinging group playing the classics in a succinct, tasteful way.
  6. Complete 1970's Max Roach Quartet with Billy Harper.
  7. MCA Records MCA2-4017 - George Russell " New York,N.Y & Jazz In The Space Age" -
  8. I was thinking the same thing.
  9. If the guys at Craft were hip, they'd reissue this, and on a twofer CD as well.
  10. Today
  11. The 2 Roland Kirk Resonance CDs that just came out.

  15. Haven't you answered your own question of why its never been reissued? From what you have been posting I assumed this was a super terrific Christmas set and impossible to even hear.
  16. There've been quite a few Mosaic sets containing recordings made in 1960 and later. While Mosaic's direction, with some notable exceptions, currently seems pointed toward pre-1960s recordings, what potential (and realistic) post-1960 sets would you like to see Mosaic release?
  17. New Point of Departure has the unabridged version of Brandon Burke's interview with Guy: https://pointofdeparture.org/PoD93/PoD93Kopelowicz.html Brandon used to post here regularly. Due to questions about rights and the estate, photos are not in the article.
  18. Late

    Joe Henderson

I've only heard it through Bandcamp, but I agree. I sooo wish it would've had a new compact disc reissue. At least vinyl is out there.
  19. He could have been Phil Upchurch's successsor, if he hadn't tragically died so young ... an enormous talent.
