  1. Past hour
  2. I will pick and choose. Some of the Muse pressings were crappy. Wonder how they will fund this without a dozen Bill Evans albums paving the path? PS- I hope they sell like crazy!
  3. Same here, but it would be nice to upgrade from old CD-R burns from questionable sources. But no interest in $32.98 vinyl. And why THAT Carlos Garnett title, which is much weaker than his first three albums on the label?
  4. Patton is sold. Like Wayne Shorter, Rivers was still creative into his 80s. He created opportunities for the players on these discs. Some of them were Disney musicians etc. Maybe to them their musical life depended on it.
  5. Today
  6. I got most of it already, in some form or fashion. All that I want, anyway. Most all of it anyway.
  7. Ltd Edition vinyl, I bet $30 is their price point and it would have to be some unknown and impossible to find release that they would ever get anything from me. And of all the recordings to choose from at the start, its the Roy Brooks again? (Oh but its never been issued in this extra special, massively overpriced vinyl!)
  8. Yesterday
  9. What more indeed?! 😉
  10. A couple of good 70's Charles Earland LP's, some good Joe Bonner albums, some primo Don Patterson, and an Eric Kloss LP with Hannibal Peterson are high on my list if they ever offer them on CD or reasonably priced digital.
  11. A good, strong recording.
  12. Ricky Ford has 7 Muse LPs that have never been released on CD ever.
  13. Nate's remembrance is lovely, and don't miss Tessa Souter's fantastic comment. (Full disclosure: Nate quotes from "Jazz from Detroit" in his piece and I chime in the comments with a coda.)
  14. Hopefully they have access to the masters and find some bonus material for this.
  15. Wouldn't necessarily count on that. The Joe Henderson CD was similarly overpriced no matter where you looked. Hard not to feel like this is related to them having such success getting people to shell out for the Tone Poet LPs.
  16. Very cool. Hopefully, they'll do a LOT of them.
  17. Looks like Muse are now getting the deluxe reissue treatment. Vinyl only by the looks of things, please don't shoot the messenger... https://youtu.be/_wFWH4HgvK8?feature=shared
  18. Sheila Jordan & Sabine Kühlich: 2 Generations of Singers. DLR 2006 [Germany 2006]
  19. DeepDiscount and ImportCDs will likely be substantially cheaper.
  20. Yeah, that's just silly. I am hoping that Amazon will get it for less than that. But right now they're only taking orders for download/streaming.
  21. I saw this and have to admit I did not think she would have been my age (well, in another 33 days). As I think about it though it might be that "What's Happening" was watched mostly in syndication in the 80s, producing the illusion that she was younger than she was. RIP, and sympathy to Mr. Pelt.
  22. I don´t know what I posted 3 years ago
  23. Danielle Spencer, typically acknowledged as the first female back child actress, has died at the age of 60. Her breakout role was as Dee in the TV show 'What's Happening!!', which aired from 1976-79 on ABC. She left television to become a veterinarian. Her brother is Jazz trumpeter Jeremy Pelt.
  24. It is always a large treat to have more recordings by Horace Silver issued.
