  2. Pianist Mike Wofford, the husband of flautist Holly Hofmann, as well as her musical partner, died on September 19 at the age of 87. I was fortunate to hear both of them playing together twice, co-leading a quartet and in the unique group Flutology at IAJE.

  12. (👍) - Too bad I don't have this CD, but I saw the trio live as the rhythm section of 'The Cookers' at the 'Theaterstübchen' in Kassel. Unfortunately, they only played two pieces as a trio - but they were wonderful!

  14. He led the jazz big band of the local radio station for several years, the news of his passing was reported on their news pages today. R.I.P. This was his farewell concert:

  17. oh that´s bad news. I first heard him with Thad Jones-Mel Lewis Big Band. It was shortly before Thad and Mel separated....., and I remember that´s the first time I had heard that great pianist.
