One for All “Too Soon to Tell” Sharp Nine cd I believe this is their first as an outfit, sounding quite appropriate after the Harrell disc.
-
Starting off a deliciously cool morning with some cool and sophisticated music . . . sounding so so good. Tom Harrell “Prana Dance” High Note cd Wayne Escoffrey and Johnathan Blake are so good here, as always.

Don't have the box but do have almost all of the music on it on seperate releases. -
If you have the Google translate app you could use Google Lens to translate. I do that now with all my Japanese cd’s and it’s great to be finally able to read those liners I never got into those later albums. The one on Impulse! I do enjoy a lot is the Village Vanguard concerts. Now spinning:

Good one. The Pure Pleasure reissue? Or an original?

Summer With The Juilliard String Quartet
B. Clugston replied to JSngry's topic in Classical Discussion
I found an LP in good shape. While I think the 1969 version has a little more gusto, the original is fascinating hearing the quartet navigate this strange new sound world--a world which had the Stanley Quarter fleeing from. I enjoyed the Schuman, too--not a masterpiece and not always compelling, until it suddenly is! Great ending, too. -
Original is an excellent album--glad to see it's being reissued.

Week 9 picks https://doorfliesopen.com/2025/07/31/cfl-beat-242/ https://rodpedersen.com/week-9-cfl-picks-for-pumpjacks/ https://3downnation.com/2025/07/31/3downnation-cfl-picks-straight-up-against-the-spread-week-9/ https://pifflespodcast.com/blog/piffles-picks-week-9-2025/ My picks... Redblacks over Stampeders - Adams isn't playing. Argos over Bombers - Collaros won't play either. Tiger-Cats over Elks - I think the Elks have improved enough with Fajardo at quarterback to beat some teams now. But not the Ticats on a five-game winning streak. Roughriders over Alouettes - If Alexander were playing, I might give the edge to the Als.

Let's not forget, too, that Harry Lim had a marvelous second act with his Famous Door label of the Seventies and early Eighties, which adhered to a similar swing-to-bop ethos as Keynote, or its seventies rival Pablo, led by another empresario who cut his teeth during that transitional era. I love the series of Bill Watrous small group records that Lim put out, the best of which featured the fantastic Danny Stiles. And I've heard many a Scott Hamilton record, but IMO none captured his tone as Zootably as Swinging Young Scott on Famous Door.

A welcome reissue (first on CD though) - earliest recording of Osborne/Tracey duo ('72) - will be a worthy addition to their duo Wigmore Hall concert from '74 (another Cadillac release & given CD Rx back in 2017). Still hoping for the as yet unreleased (CD) 1976 duo concerts (Bracknell) originally released on Ogun as Tandem https://stantraceymikeosborne.bandcamp.com/album/original
