  2. I had been unaware that there was a new Leon Thomas on the scene.
  3. Now listening to disc 9 of the Big Band V-Disc set. I have to admit that the Sam Donahue band is a bit of a revelation. Really good classic swing stuff.
  4. Instead of making price cuts I would consider fair offers. Please PM if you have any interest. Thank you for looking. 6. Rome is amazing to the extent that it is one city where I have never gone record shopping.
  7. Listening to a newly-acquired copy of the BGO double CD that brings together three of Tom Scott’s mid-1970s albums, including the two with L.A. Express. I think I have about 15-20 of these BGO twofers (threefers?), and the annotations and sound are consistently good. What are some of your faves from this label, jazz or otherwise?
  8. I was unaware of O'Brien before now. My loss.
  9. Never been to Rome but going for a day this fall. I doubt I'll be hitting any record stores on that city tour.
  10. My CDs are still stored in a Can-Am unit like this one: https://www.can-am.ca/CD-storage-DVD-storage.htm
  11. IKEA seems to be all over the place for CD (and vinyl) storage shelves. But it really seems they do not keep any of them available nearly long enough. And what you all have mentioned here matches none of the two different systems for CD storage I've bought at IKEA in the past. (Will have to search for the names but cannot locate the info sheets or receipts right now.) They are used in different areas in my music room so the mismatch is no big problem. But I really regret those I bought in 1999/2000 are long-discontinued. It was a wall-mounted cupboard to hold about 350 CDs each (I bought two of them at the time) with glass doors. Smart ... Apart from that, the oft-maligned BILLY system holds up well and serves me well for storing my LPs that overflowed from my actual music room into the adjacent room where vinyls are gradually taking over now ...
  12. Been to Rome twice, never to a record store. No personal experience but this one popped up on a search and looks pretty good: https://www.millerecords.it/en/
  13. Welcome to the boards! I'm not sure but a couple of ideas on what you're searching for (please excuse if these are way off the mark): First track, Daphne: Second possibility: First track, Minor Swing:
  14. I can't be of any help, I haven't visited a shop in Roma since 1971.
  15. Right now another of the new releases from Resonance Records, Joe Henderson “Consonance: Live at the Jazz Showcase” 2 cd set, disc 1 185×185 8.17 KB
  16. Great band on this one... Steve Davis, Eddie Henderson, Jeff "Tain" Watts, Eric Alexander and Orrin Evans.
  17. Thanks to everyone for the links, references and analyses. Very helpful. Too bad Tom Johnson died in 2025; he would have been a great source.
  18. 32 Jazz CD reissue of a Muse title
