So am I.

His last date was in the late 70s with Howard McGhee and Benny Bailey. Home Run is the record.
-
Dylan-esque for sure. Glad he did it.

There it is!

The Boss being the boss, right there. Even from a distance that hits hard

If you are in the Hudson Valley, I'd like to alert you to the 30th installment of "So, What Do You Think?" at Tubby's in Kingston, New York on Sunday, March 1. This concert presents the music of Chicago-based saxophonist / clarinetist Keefe Jackson with bassist Luke Stewart (Irreversible Entanglements, SILT Trio, Blacks' Myths) and percussionist Mikel Patrick Avery (Natural Information Society, BASIC). This will be a powerful evening of improvised music that is not to be missed. Doors at 7pm, concert at 8pm $20 at the door or in advance. (ticket link to follow) I might also play records before/after if there's time! Band bios attached for your perusal. We look forward to seeing you out there! Keefe Jackson Trio bio.pdf

Thanks! Getting lead sheets is possible but a lot harder than in the 90s when I went wild. Blame it on COVID and hiring freezes. Do you know who is the publisher for Cootie's music?

What Classical Music Are You Listening To?
mikeweil replied to StarThrower's topic in Classical Discussion
I say it again: Pramsohler is the best! Buy any of his albums with confidence. -
No updates from anybody, but using the Google Internet to look up my tracking #, I can see that the item has been Delayed In Dallas, which is understandable

Timely stuff, thanks. BTW, his 'Land of Hope & Dreams' EP from last year is magnificent.
-
I've been doing a concentrated Jessica Williams listen the last few days. Glorious stuff.

I like this one. Not released until 1995, these 1957 recordings really draw me “into” the music. A trio with Chet’s trumpet and vocals, guitar and bass.
