  1. Past hour
  2. Now: 2-LP set originally released as Goodbye Yesterday (1973) and I Offer You (1973). Gorgeous music.
  3. Not least of all because you did a very good job at documenting his doings.
  4. Today
  5. Please see www.percyfrance.info (a hundred green smilies). but seriously its funny to go back to this post, 21 years later, when I needed a handy image of I Should Care and google brought me to it. A long strange trip it's been. PERCY FRANCE LIVES!
  6. Okay, this is a little weird, in a dream last night I remember cellos, and my Dad. The cello was one of his favorite instruments, and so I plucked this from the shelf to listen to, Weilen Kuijken and Jordi Savall performing Sieur de Sainte-Colombe. These SACDs sound wonderful. (And yes, they are not cellos!)
  7. Dusty and cdjapan both indicate the preorderable discs are SACD, which explains the high price. My bad.
  8. Zoot Sims & Bucky Pizzarelli - Elegiac (Storyville)
  9. Not counting any of the 26(?) boxes of CD’s and books (prob gonna wait until April to dig into any of that)… …we’re about 60% unpacked now. All the kitchen and bathroom stuff, and 2/3rds of the clothes — but none of the office stuff and other whatnot. There’s SO much more room in the combined LR/DR/K space than we had in DC — it almost feels more like a loft. The top 18” of the walls of the BR are totally open to the LR too, and music and TV sound carry into the BR — even the BR clock radios carry all the way into the kitchen when I’m cooking breakfast. Everything just feels more open. Windows sorta face east too, so we get great morning sunlight — but NONE of the blinding afternoon sun. (Apt in DC faced north, so we never got any direct sun.)
  10. Prompted by @jazzbo's Gonzalez post above:
  11. I enjoyed this so much yesterday that I'm spinning it again today:
  12. The Philips LPs are great and most have been reissued on CD. Possibly a better use of one's funds.
  13. I have to wait til next month for my copy, but I'm looking forward to it.
  14. Maybe. I like a lot of them. . . all are pretty much top notch.
  15. This may be his best album.
  16. the Dutch and their first names are funny anyway... I recently almost bought this duo album of Hazevoet (English: Harefoot) with Hendrikus Johannes 'Han' Bennink might still get it for Easter if it's still available
  17. Unknown Artist – Persuasive Jazz Album One Streaming this. I had never heard of it before. According to the internet it is possible a tax write off label that produced very generic jazz covers on a no royalties basis. There are 25 records of this stuff.
  18. I don't think many would have noticed that. (I for one wouldn't ...) Particularly since there are certain non-Anglo names that are spelled incorrectly all the time. But your attention to detail is to your credit.
