On to another new arrival from dustygroove–“Louis Armstrong & His All Stars – In Concert Falkoner Centret January 1959” Steeplechase cd This is a great sounding mellow All-Stars recording.

I’m starting the day off with Benny Goodman “Different Version Vols 1 & 2 – 40 Alternate Takes Of Recordings 1939 to 1940” Phontastic 2 cd set, disc 1. Got this from dustygroove.com really inexpensive, and the sound is excellent. This band was so very “on” at this time.

George Crater – Out Of My Head

Just noticed this at DG and CDJapan. Recorded live on August 12, 1973 at Henny Onstad Center for The Arts, which is in Norway. Tunes include "Open to Love" and "Alone, Again". Carol Goss, Paul's wife/companion, illustrated the front cover.

That's a great way of putting it. I passed on buying the Record Store Day EP dressed up as an LP, but definitely would be into a digital release. Things were rapidly evolving for Trane in 1960 and would love to hear the mostly audible evidence.
