  1. An interesting fellow devolved into a complete dick.
  2. A dandy. It was my introduction to Wellins.
  3. Some Von Freeman.
  4. Can't retire and still wonder WTF I have been doing, never mind what I might do. BUT the world seems to be retiring me. Sigh.
  5. My preferred version is a Toshiba lp circa 1984.
  6. The covers look like Liberty/Pacific Jazz.
  7. Today I would say diverted rather than diminished.
  8. Transfers or mastering?
  9. I was at this session.
  10. Harrison Bankhead Quartet w/ Mars Williams, Ed Wilkerson and Avreeayl Ra
  11. Not really funny.
  12. Maybe later - I'm so steamed thinking about it.........
  13. Once again listening to Monteux's recording of Elgar's Enigma. At a decent volume his transition from W.N. to Nimrod always makes me catch my breath.
  14. Zappa insulted (and blew off all at once) Roscoe Mitchell, Lester Bowie and me circa 1968. I can no longer assess his music - the event was so negative.
  15. Litweiler's notes were used for the BN Connoisseur cd of A Slice of the Top as well.
  16. Because it means so much to us.
  17. So we lost him via logo. First a logo, then a brand. then a monster to feed. That makes some sense.
  18. See my post #2 on this thread and understand I have 18 Peterson cds in my collection and untold sideman performances. I have been listening to him since the 1960s. Some obviously give pleasure or I would have stopped. I still stand my my original post in this thread and find Justin's post misinformed at best.
  19. Beef is better than peas.
  20. That's how we lost him.
